The Twitter blunders from president Trump just keep coming.
On Friday, Trump retweeted a story from parody site Babylon Bee which claims that Twitter shut down its network to slow the spread of negative news about Joe Biden.
"Wow, this has never been done in history. This includes his really bad interview last night. Why is Twitter doing this. Bringing more attention to Sleepy Joe & Big T," Trump commented.
Credit: twitterThe story in question is an obvious parody. It claims that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey actually used a sledgehammer to smash Twitter's servers in order to stop the spread of negative news about Biden.
"Dorsey ran downstairs and started smashing as many computers as he could, but he did need to ask for some help, as the hammer was pretty heavy. None of the programmers could lift the hammer, either. Eventually, they managed to program a robot to pick up the sledgehammer and smash the servers," the story reads.

"The Babylon Bee is the world’s best satire site, totally inerrant in all its truth claims. We write satire about Christian stuff, political stuff, and everyday life," it says.
In reality, Twitter's servers did have issues Thursday evening, but not because Dorsey bludgeoned them with a sledgehammer. Twitter's official support account said the company "had some trouble" with internal systems, adding it hadn't found evidence of a security breach or a hack.

The list of Trump's Twitter blunders is long, and includes the infamous "covfefe" tweet, spelling his wife Melania's name incorrectly, and talking about "unpresidented" acts, to name a few. In this latest one, Trump is likely guilty of doing something both Facebook and Twitter have recently been battling: He shared a story without reading beyond the headline.
Don't do it, folks; you'll end up sharing completely ridiculous, fake news. Just like the President of the United States.
